August 15 hay bales were seemingly set on fire nearby the solar array project at Tern Avenue and 310th Street.  Taylors Falls firefighters had put the fire out when deputies arrived on scene about 7 a.m.

Lightning is thought to have started a fire at a rooftop of the Family Dollar business on Main Street in North Branch August 19.  The incident was called in about 4 a.m. Sheriff’s patrol deputies aided with traffic detours and North Branch Fire responded.  The storefront had one window busted out and there’s a temporary plastic sheet covering the roof.

August 17 report of a polebarn entered in Lent Township. A Marlin rifle, powertools and Honda four-wheeler are missing.

Somebody apparently thought blowing up the specially built waste containers at boat landings,  for disposing of hooks, lines and sinkers,  was entertaining. The suspect blew apart the containers at Little Lake, South Lindstrom and North Center with fireworks.
