Thank you all who came out  and paid respects to Herb Jangor Saturday.  I am a bad number guesser, but I would estimate there had to be over 800 people in attendance. Quite a testament to how Herb touched us all.

The wait is finally over! After a few years of being away, Feed My Starving Children is making a triumphant return to Chisago Lakes.  Chisago Lakes Free Church will once again house the event and the hope is to make it bigger and better than ever before.  We have participated in the event every year it has been here and trust me when I say that it is awesome, moving and inspirational all rolled up into one.

The event will take place October 14 and 15.  Sign up for the events do not begin until September 14.  There is something you can do now as far as helping. What they are looking for are groups that know they want to participate to contact the church so they get an idea of numbers.  While the event is open to any and all who choose to help, there usually are a lot of groups that like to volunteer at the same time.  If it happens that there are a bunch of groups that would love to help, that would give the church enough time to order another shift and possibly two.  Thus allowing anyone a chance to help.  Please call the church and let them know you have a group that would like to volunteer at 651-257-2677.  Thanks and we will see you at the pack!

Now that fall is close and so is the (gulp) state fair, that can only mean one thing, our farmers markets are in full bloom. You can now get everything including sweet corn and fruit.  Both Lindstrom and Chisago Farmers Markets are full with vendors selling their delicious foods.  Remember Lindstrom holds their market on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the St. Bridget of Sweden Church parking lot and Chisago City holds theirs Friday afternoons in Moberg Park.

This Saturday, you are invited to St. Croix Falls for their annual RibFest.  You can enjoy wonderful barbecue such as ribs, chicken, tips, pulled pork, roasted corn and more.  It all takes place next to MidwestOne Bank in St. Croix Falls in front of Market Place Foods and Tractor Supply.  The event runs from 3-10 p.m.

Remember to mark your calendars for the Blue Zone Rally that will be coming to Chisago Lakes on September 14.  Learn the secret to living longer, better lives from speaker Tony Buettner whose work is featured in National Geographic and Newsweek.  Be a part of transforming well-being so the healthy choices become easy choices for you and your community. Part of the America’s Best Communities competition.  Free admission and childcare while you attend the event.

With all of the rain lately, A Brush With Kindness has been slowed a little on their Mission Week.  we are still in need of volunteers to complete a few of our jobs. If you would like to help change someone’s life, please give us a call to volunteer. Call 651-329-3644.  Thank you.
