Messelt receives 'Joe Ries Award'

Bruce Messelt, Chisago County Administrator, received the "Joe Ries Excellence in County Management Award" from Minnesota Association of County Administrators (MACA) president Roxy Traxler, Sibley County Administrator, during the Association of Minnesota Counties’ (AMC) Annual Conference in Minneapolis.
Messelt’s 20 years of local government administration experience include:
• County Administrator - Chisago County - November 2011 – Present
• City Administrator - Lake Elmo, MN - September 2009 – October 2011
• City Manager - Moorhead, MN -  July 2002 – July 2007
• Assistant to the City Manager, Tucson, AZ / July 1996 – June 2002
 
“Bruce is a great example of what our organization promotes which is excellence in professionalism, experience, and aptitude,” explained Traxler.  “He displays an impressive combination of both quality interpersonal skills/management and policy technical knowledge.”
 
Since 1999, the current president of the Minnesota Association of County Administrators (MACA) selects one MACA member annually to receive the "Joe Ries Excellence in County Management Award" for demonstrating exemplary service and leadership in the field of county management.
