Numerous domestic calls and reports of disorderly conduct-arguments-poor driving behavior were handled by Lakes Area officers.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to several crashes due to weather but no serious injury resulted, and many vehicles had been left empty as towing or dealing with the off-road situation was very difficult. The sheriff’s deputies also took a report Dec. 23 of theft of Honda generator, antique corn husker and coffee grinder from an Echo Lane address.
A residential construction site off Forest Blvd. was the scene of a reported burglary.
December 22 a “gun pointing” incident that allegedly transpired on I 35 and tied to a Braham man, resulted in an arrest by state patrol.
Also Dec. 22 a grouping of gas meters was struck by a delivery vehicle near Brink’s Plaza in Chisago City, reported in mid-day. Xcel and Chisago City firefighters were dispatched. No injury reported.
December 21 a driver in a passenger car drove into the rock wall that stands around the statue of Marlene Smith, veering off the westbound side of Highway 8 in Lindstrom, near St. Bridget’s church. The vehicle also destroyed the “Lindstrom” sign lettering attached to wall. Incident was called in about 8 a.m. The 33-year-old female driver was unhurt, and cited as authorities gathered insurance information.
