Lakes Area Police transported a stray dog to Northwoods Humane Society, from the area of Jason Avenue, Chisago City. The dog had an orange nylon collar, no tags. It is a male, pitbull mix.
February 21 theft of a GPS unit reported from a car parked on Wallmark Lake Drive, Chisago Twsp.
Report to North Branch Police of a suicide victim located at Checkerboard County Park, cause of death due to a handgun. Authorities were directed to the scene from information in text messages sent to a family member.
February 19-20 icy roads contributed to crashes reported in Taylors Falls, and incidents along I-35 and to the northern end of the county. No serious injury resulted.
February 18 an incident about 8 p.m. involving drug use and uncooperative bystanders inside a home, on Goodview Avenue, in Wyoming, required Lakes Area to assist Wyoming Police. Two females were transported to be booked into jail.
February 17 dirt inside of a plant pot used to extinguish cigarette butts, apparently ignited and is being blamed for causing a structure to catch fire, on North Fitzgerald Avenue, Rush City. Fire call came in about 9 p.m. and Rush City, Harris and Braham firefighters responded.
