January 9 smoke accumulating and possible  fire reported at Point Pleasant Heights, Chisago City about 6:30 p.m. The clothes dryer vent had become clogged and lint buildup had ignited.

Area authorities went to many calls of property damage and minor injury crashes related to poor road conditions throughout the county January 8 and January 9. Most were due to ice and vehicles ended up in ditches hitting utility boxes, trees or fences.

January 6 a smoldering mattress awaited firefighters dispatched to a report of a fire at an address on Glader Blvd., Lindstrom. The homeowners had brought the mattress outdoors and put out the fire, and Lindstrom Fire came to the scene to assist and monitor scene.

Lakes Area Police took a report of a burglary January 4 at a Park Street Lindstrom address. Items were taken from a garage. Also, reports of mailboxes being gone through in rural Shafer, and mail was also found strewn along a Lindstrom Post Office route. Sheriff personnel put out a description of a red sedan  seen in connection with the rural Shafer suspicious activity. They were looking for a four-door older model red car with baby seat in back-center and a 20-something year old woman driving with dark hair in a ponytail.
