Lois was born on December 26, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Erwin and Geneva (Gillespie) Burdick. She attended many different schools growing up but eventually graduated from Amery High School in Wisconsin. She married Jack Holt on October 8, 1951 at the St. Joseph Rectory in Amery. Lois and Jack spent four years living overseas while he was employed in construction. They eventually moved back to the Shafer area where Lois worked for a time at Plastic Products in Lindstrom and later in the kitchen at the St. Croix Hospital in St. Croix Falls, as well as being a homemaker.
After the death of her husband Jack in 1990 she enjoyed her time traveling and took several bus tours throughout the United States. She loved knitting, crocheting and sewing and will be remembered as a very social person and loved visiting friends and family. Lois had suffered from Dementia the last 10 years of her life.
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Kolette (Roger) Leonhardt of Blaine and Kris (Paul) Elfstrom of Osceola; grandsons, Bruce and Brian (Brittany) Leonhardt; brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Fred; sister, Sharon and husband Jack.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom with Fr. Dave Kohner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, on Friday. Family interment will take place at Kahbakong Cemetery in Taylors Falls.
