March 9 Lakes Area Police responded to a vehicle theft from the lot at Chisago Lakes Middle School, reported about 1:50 p.m.  The vehicle and suspect were stopped near Pioneer Road and Hwy. 8, Chisago City. Suspect located with vehicle had just been released from the county jail prior to theft of vehicle and was re-arrested.

Also March 9 a Lakes Area officer responded to a call assembling a Crisis Negotiation Team to assist at an incident on South Harte Avenue, in Rush City. An allegedly-suicidal person was armed with a handgun.  A Lakes Area Officer stood-by during the incident and the 46-year-old man was talked out of the dwelling and apprehended by deputies and booked.

Also March 12 a grass fire in Sunrise Township at River Road, complaint received about noon.  A citation for illegal burning of prohibited materials was issued. Harris, Almelund, Center City and North Branch were on scene with DNR.  

Burning complaint was responded to by deputies in Lent Township about 9 p.m. on 327th-- but property owner had permit and adequate water supply as he tended the fire.

The nice dry Saturday also meant North Branch Police had their share of burn complaints... warnings were given to property owners on Branch Avenue and at Ash Street and Grand for burning violations.

Two found bikes were collected by NBPD. To claim contact the police during office hours and describe bikes.  One was by Pizza Express and one on 386th St.
