Lots to do this weekend for your family; trip to State was a total blast
If you have yet to buy your Easter meal fixings just wait. This weekend gives you two chances to win your Easter entree. On Friday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Taylors Falls, the TF Lions Club invites you to a ham and turkey Bingo. The Bingo will be played at the TF Community Center. Every round will have a winner and there will be popcorn, pop, hot dogs, and treats available. If you have any un-used eye glasses, you are asked to please bring them for the Lions’ eyewear program.
On Saturday, Chisago City Post 272 will host their American Legion Spring Bingo. The bingo will be held at 7 p.m. at the Chisago City Community Center. Prizes will be given for each round. Come on out and have some fun.
Also on Saturday, the great folks at First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom invite you to the Easter Carnival. The carnival runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will feature games, arts and crafts, cake walks, face painting, minnow races and shows by Magic Norm the magician. For those of you who do not know, FUMC is located on Irene Avenue behind the Chisago Lakes Middle School.
Last Wednesday, we packed up and headed to the State Basketball tournament at the University of Minnesota. Not knowing what to expect, and hoping for a good turnout, my hopes came true. There were Chisago Lakes fans absolutely everywhere. I am a horrible guesser of crowd numbers, but I will take a stab in the dark and say there must have been 2,000 people there all screaming their hearts out for the Wildcats.
They didn’t disappoint the crowd, the boys played their tails off but came up just short of a win. I have seen these kids play basketball since they were in 3rd grade and it was such a treat to see them make it to state their senior year. Coach Gargaro did a great job coaching these kids. Thanks to all who came down to support the boys and to all of the people who were streaming the game on their computers. This is such an awesome community.
