There were reports Sunday night, October 2 of a loud explosion-type noise. Callers situated south of Lindstrom, into the Shafer area and towards Scandia notified the 9-1-1 operators and inquired here at the Press offices. The noise was noticed about 8:30 p.m. October 2. No word on what it was yet.
October 1 a yellow(white) lab male dog was taken to Northwoods Humane Society when it was detained as a stray. Wearing a chain collar.
Two broken windshields reported on Montclair Drive, Lindstrom. Rocks appear to have done the damage.
A burglary and assault reported close to 8 p.m. at a residence on Lake Lane, and victim knew suspect. Radio alert to arrest and detain went out immediately.
A brief law enforcement pursuit reported out of Forest Lake area, on Hwy. 8 near Greenway, October 1 about 10:40 p.m. Suspect seems to have eluded authorities.
September 29 a man reportedly slipped out of an opened door of a vehicle as it moved slowly away from a stop sign at the (County Road 22) Stacy Road and Lofton Avenue intersection, north of Chisago City. He was lying in the roadway when officers arrived about 11 p.m. and several bystanders were on scene.
The man was checked by EMS and not injured. He was arrested for violating a protection order. Prior to being booked into the jail, he was also unable to pass a field sobriety portable breath test.
Two students at Chisago Lakes High School were alleged to possess controlled substances/alcohol and were cited or arrested Sept. 28 and Sept. 26.
September 26 a counterfeit $20 bill was spotted at Lindstrom Liquors. Suspect did not complete the transaction. Surveillance video is being reviewed.
