Sue had decided by the seventh grade to become a nurse, a goal she achieved in 1965, when she graduated from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio. She worked in med-surg and kidney dialysis, post-partum and nursey. She also taught for two years at Midway Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul. She also attended St. Paul Bible College.
Sue was married to John R. Peterson in 1970. John predeceased her in 1981. They had three children: Chris Holmes (Sam), Eric Peterson (Katie) and Gail Peterson. After living in St. Paul for 19 years, the family moved to Chisago City.
Sue was diagnosed with MS in 1975. Despite the many challenges of living with MS, Sue made the most of her life. She enjoyed music, reading, playing cribbage, volunteering and painting. Most of all, she participated in church activities. She loved the Lord.
Sue is survived by her children and 5 grandchildren, and her sister, Elizabeth Danielson.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Grandstrand Funeral Home, 11900 Lake Lane North, in Lindstrom, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed online at www.grand strandfh.com
