Harold S. Shoberg, age 76 of Lindstrom, died on Monday, September 12, 2016 at his residence.

Harold was born in South St. Paul on March 26, 1940 to Ragnar and Rose (Miklya) Shoberg.  Along with his older brother, Arnold, Harold grew up on the family farm in Chisago City and attended school in Chisago City and played football during his high school years. Following graduation, Harold attended St. Paul TVI and received his vocational degree in Painting and Decorating and began his career with Lane Decorating.  

On April 9, 1961 Harold married Judith C. Johnson.  They bought their first home in Roseville and with the birth of Mark and Karl; their family began to grow.  In 1968 Jay was adopted from South Korea.  In 1969, Connie, also adopted from South Korea, joined the family.  With four children and one on the way, Harold and Judy moved to a larger home in Oakdale.  Cary joined the family in August of 1969 making it a full and busy life. In 1963 Harold worked as a supervisor of Painting and Decorating for Antler Corporation.  After several years, he became an Estimator in General Contracting for the same company.  In 1987, Harold and Judy purchased the company and Harold became the CEO of the company and changed the name to Antco.  Harold continued to work at Antco until his retirement in 2004.  After 20 years of living in Oakdale, Harold and Judy purchased a home on South Center Lake in 1989 and enjoyed living there for 25 years.  Recently, 2013, they moved one mile north to a town home in Lindstrom. Harold enjoyed restoring old cars, gardening, cooking, music, lake living, traveling, his friends and his church. Above all, Harold loved God.  He loved Judy.  And he loved his children, grandchildren and his great grandchild.  He will be dearly missed by many.

Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Judith; son Mark (Lori) Shoberg; grandchildren, Krista (Jim) Marlette, Brian (Anna) and Kasie;  son Jay (Polly) Shoberg; grandchildren, Alexandria, Zachary, Luke and great granddaughter Harper; daughter Connie (Rob) Hoffman; grandchildren, Andrew, Stephanie, Kelly and Isabella; son Karl (Jody) Shoberg; grandchildren, Adam and Rebecca.  Survived also by numerous extended family members as well as close loving friends.

Preceded in death by parents Ragnar and Rose (Miklya); brother, Arnold; son Cary; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Shoberg and Karen Johnson.  

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church (1 Summit Ave) in Center City.  Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to memorial Service at the church.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Chisago Lake Lutheran Church or an organization of donor’s choice.
