Marlene was born on December 20, 1932 in Janesville, Minnesota to parents Fred and Ruth Schwandt.
Marlene was our vibrant matriarch and well loved by countless individuals who were lucky to know her. God called for her after succumbing to a very brief fight with cancer. She was surrounded by many loved ones in her final hours and will be missed by all who knew her. She was not alone…
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents Fred and Ruth Schwandt; brother Wayne Schwandt; sister Diane Hambrick; and first grandson Jeffrey.
She is survived by her sons Stephen (Denise), Joseph (Annette), Mark, David, John (Theresa), and Ronald (Richard Lawless); sisters Janice (Bob) McCutcheon and Nancy Schwandt; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and in-laws.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to the mass at church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
