Fred was a member of the United States Army Reserve serving eight years; three of those years were served as active duty. Fred served time overseas for just over a year as a paratrooper. On September 19, 1970, he married his loving wife Doris, and helped to raise her three children. Fred’s hobbies included gardening, reading western novels, wood working, and being a member of the Taylors Falls Lions Club. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved being a grandpa and was always interested in what the grandkids were doing and cared most about their success.
Fred is survived by his wife Doris Fors; his three children: Cheryl (Guy) Kolman, Terry (Brian) Heichel, and Kevin (Shelley) Price; grandchildren: Kelly (Brodie) Dailey, Tiandra (Brad) Dulon, Jesse Adams, Miranda Adams, Adam Price, and Jesel Fasbender; great grandchildren: Chase, Molly, Brianna, Grace and Evelyn Dailey, Wyatt and Tatum Dulon, Lilly Adams and Dennis Groeneveld. Fred is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Florence Fors, son-in-law Dennis Adams, five brothers and four sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Kahbakong Cemetery in Taylors Falls, Minnesota.
