December 17
Chisago City firefighters helped at the scene of a utility vehicle fire that damaged a garage and siding at an address on 243rd Street about noon.  The vehicle’s battery was being charged when the fire started.  No injuries reported.

Lakes Area Police officers arrested a male and female, suspected for involvement in a stolen vehicle, in Lindstrom.  Patrol car noticed the description and upon checking learned it was reported stolen, vehicle was recovered.

Also Dec. 17 a domestic incident required help from Lakes Area Police personnel at an address in Taylors Falls, about 11 p.m.  The suspect had departed the Bench Street house and reported to be armed. Suspect returned and was apprehended without incident.

December 15
An arrest reported at the Wyoming Shell gas station, following a saturation effort under Towards Zero Deaths enforcement check, resulting in a traffic stop/pullover off 35 and East Viking  about 10 p.m.   The driver data came up as operating a vehicle with impounded plates and a status as canceled and IPS or inimicable to public safety. Driver was alleged to have controlled substances and open bottle in possession as well.  Preliminary information is there were 42 grams of methamphetamine and small amount of marijuana seized along with $878.  Vehicle was towed and driver incarcerated to be booked.

A United States Postal carrier using a personal vehicle to deliver mail crashed Dec. 15 at North Lakes Drive and Bayberry Ave. about 2 p.m.

Postmaster Edwin Dahl, arrived to take custody of the mail as the delivery worker was transported by Lakes Region EMS to an unidentified healthcare facility. Pine County and Braham Police assisted at the scene.   The crash was attributed to weather and a rutted road surface.

Also-- Dec. 15 a multi-school wrestling meet was taking place at Chisago Lakes High School when there was a report of an injury requiring transport.  Ambulance took unidentified victim suffering with a dislocated hip about 7 p.m.
