Casino Royale comes to Ojiketa; dance team is headed to state!
The event is a James Bond theme party where you are encouraged to dress as your favorite Bond character, villain or a love interest of Bond. You will be given a ton of funny money to gamble with on games such as black jack, Texas hold’em, chuck-a-luck, and many more games. There will be awards for biggest winner, best dressed and more. If you are looking for a good time locally this Saturday call Joe at 651-336-1126 to purchase your tickets. We will see you there!
I can’t believe how many comments I have received after my column ran last week. Apparently my love and affinity for the US flag is shared by many here in the area. When I wrote it last week, I was positive I would have comments, but I expected to receive as many negative as positive remarks. Not the case. This area never ceases to impress me. I love this place and the people who live here.
Last week we had an article about a snowmobile trail that makes it way through Allemansratt Park in Lindstrom. In the article, the public is encouraged to send comments to Park Board member Shari Bachman. We inadvertently left out a letter in her email. If you would like to comment on the snowmobile trail, you are encouraged to email [email protected] or call 257-9380.
Unfortunately Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year. Makes planning a nice night out with your sweetheart a little more difficult. But there is good news. There are plenty of great restaurants in our area that would love to celebrate Valentine’s Day with you even if it is a few days early. Take a look at this edition to see some of the great specials some of our wonderful restaurants have going on for Valentine’s Day.
Congratulations to the Chisago Lakes High Kick Team for making it to the state dance competition on February 18. The girls will bring their awesome routine to Target Center in Minneapolis and hopefully come home with some hardware. Nice job and good luck girls!
Remember that the snowmobile radar runs have been moved to February 25. Yes, it’s a bummer we couldn’t have it during the Celebration of the Lakes but at least we will have it and everyone is excited to see the snowmobiles ripping down the runway. So tune up your sled and get ready to go fast.
There is still time to register yor business for the 2017 Home & Business Expo. The expo takes place on Mar 4 & 5 at the Chisago Lakes Highschool. You may be thinking it’s not worth your time to give up a weekend to sit inside at another trade show, I am telling you this truthfully, there are some businesses who book 80 percent of their yearly business at the expo. Is it fun to sit around all weekend indoors? No. Is it a great chance for at least 2,000 residents to stroll past your booth and potentially hire you for future work? Absolutely.
Call Chisago Lakes Community Ed to register your business today at 651-213-2600.
