Lakes Area Police took in a stray dog, described as large, white fur, tan collar and female from rural Chisago City. Northwoods Humane Society is holding.
December 28 an incident where somebody is still getting used to one way pairs in Lindstrom. A 66-year-old driver reportedly went the wrong way and struck a vehicle in the westbound lane, at North Lakes Trail and Lake Blvd. about 1 p.m. No injuries reported.
December 29 the Community Service Officer did an information gathering inspection at a specially-allowed five dog homesite on Jeffrey Avenue, Chisago City.
Stolen vehicle from a Belle Isle address in north part of county. Item is a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck.
Package stolen from mailbox on River Road, contained a red dress.
Three car crash on Hwy. 8
A crash December 29 on Highway 8 at Pioneer Road, by the driving range was reported about 8 p.m.
State patrol said there were three vehicles involved.
Early details are that a Lumina LS driven eastbound by Lauretta Luehring, 19, of Forest Lake, crashed into a Taurus car waiting behind an Impala, which was attemtping to turn left off the highway, onto Pioneer.
Luehring was cited for following too closely.
The driver in the first car Cheryl Ann Webb, 38, Shafer suffered a broken leg. The other driver, Barbara Ann Schermerhorn, 61, of Chisago City, was not transported.
January 1
An unidentified driver fell asleep and crashed off the rouad at County 16 and Park Trail, Almelund. Incident was called in about 10 p.m.
Parents of driver told deputy their son landed about 50 yards off the roadside and the car required a tow truck to remove, which the parents would arrange. They would also take the driver to the hospital to be assessed for injuries.
