Dean C. Johnson was born in Rush City, Minnesota on August 1, 1947 to parents Leslie and Eunice Johnson.  He lived in Almelund, Lindstrom, and Center City. Dean graduated from Lindstrom-Center City High School in 1965 where he played football, basketball, baseball, and was in the chess club.  He also played in a band in high school and that carried on throughout his life playing the guitar and organ with bands Men at Work, Waltz Rhythm Kings, The Exiles, and Georgia Express.

Dean married Mary Dombrock on September 9, 1967 and they were blessed with two children Pauline and Ryan.  Dean enjoyed playing and umpiring softball.  He also coached local hockey teams starting in 1977 and was instrumental in the construction of the local hockey arena.  

Dean is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Eunice Johnson; sister Janet Duffy and Helen (Ernest) Dombrock; and brother-in-law Ronald Dombrock.  

He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Pauline (Adam); son Ryan; grandchildren Justin Johnson and Kristi Johnson; brother Chuck (Karen) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.

Memorial Service 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.  Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to the service at church.  Private interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
