January 22 three suspects were detained and interviewed, then cited, for theft of services at Wild Mountain for not buying a lift ticket.

January 21 a fish house break-in and theft of items reported on East Rush Lake.  

There was a burglary reported at Fish Lake Bait Shop involving stealing the cash register with an estimated $200 in it, from the previous evening. Door was damaged for entry.

A report of a car theft in North Branch resulted in a deputy making an arrest about 6:30 a.m. in North Branch and the suspect was hospitalized due to consuming methamphetamine.

Law enforcement personnel all over the county attended to many vehicles in the ditch and minor injury crash sites January 20 due to icy road conditions.  
One vehicle off-the-road at Lent Trail and Hemingway struck an Xcel powerpole causing power outage in that immediate area. Crash was reported about 1:45 a.m.  Xcel crews responded immediately.  Also, a CenturyLink “phone box” was damaged when a driver lost control of her truck at Dogwood and Rush Point about 8 a.m. Jan. 20.  She was given a warning for leaving the scene and failing to report the damage.

January 20 and Jan. 17  two dogs recovered as strays in Chisago City. One is a terrier breed, no collar and another is a golden retriever with a grey collar.
Jan. 20 a loose cow nearly ran into a car and the driver complained. Lakes Area went to capture the cow and learned the owner had already collected the animal. The incident was reported at 2 p.m. on Itasca Avenue.

January 19 a male student had a knife at the alternative school program in Chisago City.  Officers put him on a 72 hour hold ending up in a juvenile faciliy.
Wednesday, Jan. 18 a large authorized, controlled brush burn on Ivywood Trail, Chisago City, generated a complaint call to Lakes Area Police about 10:30 p.m.
