Too many fireworks complaints into local agencies,  to count.  Bottom line is keep your fireworks on private property, don’t go into the street to shoot them off and halt fireworks activity at a decent hour at night, and you could avoid a lot of unnecessary aggravation for yourself and expense for the authorities.

Likewise too many storm damage reports to count...trees were downed all over the county and vehicles crushed or damaged. One fire Sunday night at a transformer on Nystrom Lane, Lindstrom, required firefighters to be dispatched about 10:30 p.m.

July 6 a car was driven off Wild Mountain Road at Park Trail about 7 p.m.  The driver claimed the setting sun was in her eyes and she did not notice the stop sign nor that there was a T, and that she was at the end of the road. The car hit a tree a few yards off the roadway and Almelund firefighters went to the scene when the vehicle started on fire.  No serious injuries were noted in the preliminary details but the driver and occupants went by ambulance to Regions Hospital.

July 7 report of somebody shot with a crossbow in Friesland neighborhood in Wyoming shortly after midnight. Lakes Area went to help locate suspect who was eventually arrested in North Branch.

July 8 a hot ATV muffler started a vegetation fire at a site on Kost Dam Road,  in Sunrise Township...reported about 11 a.m. No firefighter aid needed, fire was put out by those on-site.
