David Ellingson
David was born November 6, 1936 to Delmer and Alice (Christenson) Ellingson in Albert Lea, MN.
He attended and graduated from Mora High School. David continued his education, attending St. Cloud State University where he graduated with a master’s degree in Teaching and Forestry. David also served his country, entering the US Army on July 21, 1955 and was honorably discharged June 30, 1963.
David had the love for teaching, and taught Geography for 30 plus years in the Anoka/Hennepin school district. He also spent many years working on his tree farm.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, forestry and taking many vacations with Pat. He especially loved the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his wife Rose Marie (Pat); sons Ethan (Suzie), Aaron (Amrit) and Ryan (Jessica); stepdaughter Susan Schmidt; grandchildren Zachary, Ashley, Tyler, Tiffany, Bethany, Mary, Arjan, Ivan and Max Ellingson and Katie Schmidt; great-grandchild Rosemary Ellingson; brother Phillip (Val) Ellingson; sister Goodie (Kenneth) Belkholm, and sister-in-law Darlene Ellingson.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Alice, and brother Tom Ellingson.
Memorial service will be held 11 am, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements are with Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch. Online condolences may be left at www.grandstrandfh.com.
