July 16 a sexual assault was reported at an address on Third, in Lindstrom. Incident occurred about 1:25 a.m. Chief of Police Schlumbohm told the Press the follow-up assault exam done at the hospital supported the rape allegation and people are being interviewed in an attempt to identify the attacker. The 22-year-old victim was not hospitalized, he added.
There was also a report of a multiperson assault/fight near an alley at First Avenue and North Lakes Trail in Lindstrom July 16, about 1 a.m. Lakes Area Police Dept. is investigating both incidents.
Three suicide attempt situations in the Lakes Area service region over the week, with one transported by parents, one was hospitalized and third was halted and handled at scene.
July 15 a stray black dog with long fur was picked up by Lakes Area officers, no location given.
North Branch Police had a burglary report on Pine St. Theft report on Oakridge Court.
July 11 overnight into July 12 there was a power outage. A tree was on a powerline in a couple of reports to 9-1-1. The loss of power caused electronic home monitoring devices worn by offenders to not work correctly and police made a few extra visits to residences to check on peoples’ whereabouts.
