Midsummer Days in North Branch; Harmony in the Park is making music
Friday, there is Bingo again, along with the Ambassador Coronation in the big tent at the Legion. A street dance will follow headlined by the band Beer Daddys.
Saturday there is a golf tournament, followed by a kiddie midsummer olympics that is held on the high school football field at 8:30 am. A kiddie parade, more bingo and the super popular water fight all take place on Saturday. The street dance will feature The Farmers Daughters and will begin at 8:30 at the Legion.
Sunday is capped off with the Midsummer parade the begins at 2pm and meanders through town. Should be a great weekend weatherwise, so I hope to see you there!
Remember that Harmony in the Park is in full swing on Wednesdays at Lions Park. This week Link Union performed and next week is a very popular band that has played Harmony a few times in the past - Monroe Crossing. The music will begin at 7pm and before hand there is an arts and crafts show along with the Sweet Adelines. Grab your lawnchairs or blanket and head out for some free wonderful music. All of your neighbors will be there.
Just a little follow up on a story we wrote about last year regarding a youth baseball field, in rural Shafer that was shut down due to neighbor concerns regarding traffic. It seems that Shafer Yards is now back open and hosting local youth baseball games.
They held a special meeting where none of the neighbors attended and decided to re-open the fields. The good folks that run the field have offered the labor to plant shrubs along the road at the owners expense if they choose to.
