If you are looking for some real fun locally this Sunday, look no farther than first United Methodist Church in Lindstrom.  That is the location of this year’s Praise Fest. Before you get all freaked out because of the religious sound of the event, hear me out. Praise Fest is made up of bands from all of the local churches who play all day at the FUMC bandshell.  You will not be bombarded by churches trying to get you to join, you will be welcomed by all to come and enjoy some awesome music in a park like setting.  I have been to Praise Fest before, it is great. Everyone is there to have fun, eat some unbelievably good food and converse with neighbors and friends.

Admission is free Sunday, and the music begins at 1 p..m.  A free barbecue meal will follow the shows at 5 p.m.  There is a ton for kids to do like bouncy houses and games.  Sounds like the weather is going to be great - we will see you out there!

This week marks another milestone in Chisago Lakes business. Sadly, Gordy’s Pharmacy in Center City is closing its doors after decades and decades of serving the public.  Bill Garison, who has owned Gordy’s for a very long time now, has decided he has come to a time in his life where he would like a weekend off. Who can blame him? As long as I can remember Gordy’s has been here.  We will miss the convenience of Gordy’s but most of all we will miss the smiling faces that greeted you whenever you visited Gordy’s.  Thanks Bill and his staff for a great little store that has served us very well over the years.  Take a break you deserve it.

WineHaven is holding the annual Raspberry and Wine Festival this weekend.
 
They will be releasing their new batch of Raspberry wine which can be enjoyed while listening to wonderful music .and lunch will be available for purchase.  Come on out and try this delicious new batch of wine. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday 11a.m. to 5 p.m.

We love to share with the public fun things. If you caught a big fish send it in. If your child’s team wins a tournament over the weekend, by all means send it in.
