Sandell, Dewey in national spotlight for tech instruction
Sandell has been teaching technology education for 35 years. He teaches Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Introduction to Engineering Design, 3D (CAD) with Inventor, and Architectural Drafting at Chisago Lakes High School.
Sandell recently completed a two-year term on the board of directors of ITEEA and currently is the treasurer and a board member of the Minnesota Technology and Engineering Educators Association (MTEEA).

Chisago Lakes HighSchool’s technology education teacher, Ryan Dewey, received the Teacher Excellence award at this year's International Technology and Engineering EducatorsAssociation (ITEEA) conference, held in Dallas, TX, March 16-18. The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association is an association representingteachers, state supervisors and others who are involved in advancing technology and engineering education.
Dewey has been teaching technology education for 14years and is currently teaching Automotive Service Repair 1 and 2, Autos for Girls, PLTW Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Computer Service and Repair.
Dewey said, “I believe that Technology and Engineering education provides students with opportunities to learn technical skills that prepare them to become effective members of our society. Through hands-on educational experiences, I believe it’s important to teach students how to build relationships with fellow students, teachers, parents, and community business partners.”
Dewey is currently teaching at Chisago Lakes High School.
