That guy looks familiar, didn't he used to be on television? We lost another gem
Every once in a while (more lately), I have to write about someone in our community that has passed away. I usually try to write about people who have made a difference to either the community or me or both. Sadly, this week is both. Tim Meehan has left us. If the name sounds familiar, if you have ever driven to Taylors Falls on Highway 8, you certainly have noticed Meehan Brothers Nursery. It has been on the south side of Highway 8 for decades. Tim and his wife Vicki have been the faces of the nursery as long as I can remember. He was the second generation of Meehans to run the nursery.
Tim was one of the first people I met when I began here at the Press. He was so kind, so thoughful and immediately became a good friend. Every spring (and summer, and fall) I would look forward to getting mulch, and plants. Not because of the impending work I had to do, but because that meant I got to sit down at the nursery and eat donuts with Tim and Vicki. Such wonderful people. Tim always went above and beyond for people whether it was for customers or for a community. He was always dong free work for all of the cities of Chisago Lakes. Everywhere you look you can see something Tim planted. He was such a great person and will be missed horribly.
We are nearly complete with our Community Guide sales. If you would like your company included in the guide, act quickly. Time is running out. This is the most read periodical printed in our county each year. Call us at 651-257-5115.
