Katherine was born on August 29, 1923 in Franconia Township to parents Joseph and Theodora (Greene) Minnichsoffer. She attended Franconia one room school through the 8th grade and then attended Osceola School where she graduated in 1941.
She married George “Arne” A. Holt on August 24, 1946. During WW II she worked at Seagers (Whirlpool) in St. Paul. Katherine and Arne settled on a farm south of Shafer where she enjoyed her vegetable gardens and flowers as well as bowling, golfing, playing cards and fishing. She also enjoyed playing the organ in church and at home.
Katherine is survived by her three sons, Tom (Nora) of Lindstrom, Doug (Mary) of Andover and Tim (Jenny) of Taylors Falls and daughter in law Lynn of Shafer; her nine grandchildren, Jame (Shari) Holt, Derek Holt, Amanda Holt, Rachel (Nicholas) Goursky, Annamaria (Kellen) Zietz, Jordan Holt, Jenna (Adam) Wojcik, Aaron Holt and Laura Holt and her eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Arne; son Dennis; brothers, Bernard and Lawrence and sisters, Mary and Rosella.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom with Fr. David Kohner officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and also one hour prior to mass at church on Friday, May 26 at 10am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
