Student Voice of Democracy, Patriot Pen winners recognized

The Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen are two contest that VFW Post 1678 sponsors for Chisago Lakes students.  The Voice of Democracy is for high school students and  requires the participants to write and deliver a speech on a topic. This year’s topic was: “ American History: Our Hope for the Future”.  The first place winner in Voice of Democracy was Isabelle Lindahl (12th grade) Katherine Peterson (10th grade) received 2nd Place and Zachary Doyscher (10th grade) 3rd place.  
 
The Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest is for Middle School students. The students at the Chisago Lakes Middle School entered a 300-400 word essay on the question: “America’s Gift to My Generation”.  Local VFW Post 1678 was thrilled to award three middle school students cash awards for their entries in the VFW Patriot’s Pen Contest.  Garrett Doolittle (8th grade) received first place in the Patriot’s Pen Contest. 2nd Place went to Cameron Tripplet (6th grade) and third place was Jacob Peterson (7th grade)
