A 29-year-old Wyoming resident was seriously hurt when the Pontiac passenger car that he was driving, went off the freeway and struck a tree last week. State Patrol reports the single-car incident happened about 11:15 p.m. November 14.
The G6 was northbound on 35 just past County Road J, in Lino Lakes, and for an unknown reason, state patrol says the car veered off the northbound lane and hit a tree.
The driver was identified as Anthony Steven Knauff. His condition was not available at press time but the patrol described injuries as life threatening at the time.
Lakes Area Police are investigating a dog bite and whether to have city council deem an animal dangerous or not in connection with an incident that was reported November 13. About 4 p.m. a female was attacked by a dog near 278th and Lamar Avenue in Chisago City. The county attorney will also review the case for charges.
November 13 a deputy issued a nuisance ticket to an operator of an ATV who was ignoring Stacy’s ordinances.
Lakes Area Police are writing warnings now for violations of on-street winter parking rules, but the tickets will carry a fine shortly. The police try to locate owners and have vehicles moved, and not towed, as the first line of response, but this is not always feasible. There’s no on-street parking in any of the larger cities in the county, starting in early November and running through winter, until April. Check your local ordinance hours for exact times.
November 14 an arrest of a 37-year-old male was made when Lakes Area Police were asked to assist at a domestic on Fenwick Ave. in Wyoming. Incident was called in about 1:40 a.m.
November 16 a theft of an ATV and ATV cover, reported from a seasonal address at Kismet Isle, rural Chisago City.
Teacher cited for pot possession at school
A Rush City High School teacher was cited for possessing marijuana at the school, when a deputy was summoned on suspicion of a teacher using pot. The small amount ticket was issued and the teacher was advised to call for a ride home.
November 17 a residential burglary reported at Legacy Court Chisago City.
An exchange of cash for a play gun was arranged over the Internet, for Wild Mountain parking lot, but the seller took the $80 in cash and fled, and did not produce the item to be purchased.
November 18 Chisago City firefighters helped at a car fire near Pioneer and Hwy. 8 about 2:45 p.m. A minor grassfire also was ignited by the vehicle.
Multiple reports in the Harte and Third avenues Rush City area, of spray paint vandalism to vehicles. Additional damages to cars parked on Frandsen, 8th and 5th.
