They bid on silent auction items, survivors walked a course lined with 1,000 luminary paper bags, there was food and later-- The Farmer’s Daughters performed. The Relay was put together by local Chairs Jill Behnke, Martha Arnold and Tara Leivian, and the ACS coordinator for this and several other events Jen Anderson.
Also pictured right, Sheriff’s Dept. Chaplain Ruth Titus gives the invocation and then above-- Jerry Mollberg, Rush City, spoke to the crowd about his experiences with bladder cancer. He and his wife Bev served as the Relay co-honorary chairpersons this year.
The funds raised were at $41,000 at last report. Anderson encourages anyone with a cancer diagnosis to find information, learn about support services available and talk through fears and concerns with an ACS hotline oncology nurse, 1-800-227-2345. See more photos page 11.
