The hiker was airlifted to HCMC in Minneapolis by LifeLink. The full report is being developed by Polk County, Wisconsin authorities. Authorities expressed their appreciation of help from fishermen with boats, as the victim was accessible only by water. Physicians who just happened to be hiking nearby also volunteered their help.
September 3 Lakes Area Police and deputies break-up an underage party in Chisago City on Kodiak Avenue about 10 p.m. Multiple citations issued to juveniles.
September 1 arrest of theft suspects in Family Pathways store parking lot in Lindstrom. Suspects also believed to have been involved in theft from a Taylors Falls address. The search of the vehicle results in items recovered that were allegedly stolen.
Also Sept. 1 North Branch Police and firefighters attended to a semi truck with fire in brakes. Incident happened about 8:15 p.m. at Hwy. 30 and 95.
August 31 GT Storage in Rush City had a break-in. The unit lock was cut and investigators are following up.
August 30 a videotape and other evidence is being reviewed by Lakes Area in conjunction with theft from Brink’s Market.
Also, Aug. 30 North Branch Water & Light facility was broken into, fence kicked in and a lock removed in an attempt to steal copper wiring, authorities say.
August 29 a dogbite reported at an address on Evergreen Trail. Police are looking into the necessity of designating a dangerous dog, or not.
August 28 a suicide reported at an address in Foxhill neighborhood. North Branch Police also intervened in three other suicide threats over the week.
