Activity Report
The state patrol was assisted by sheriff deputies at the scene of a semi truck-car head on crash Monday this week. The call came in at 9:24 a.m. and shutdown traffic at Quarry Road and Hwy. 8 in Franconia.

State patrol reported early information pointing to a Kia Soul heading eastbound that went over the centerline and crashed into a 2004 Freightliner.  The Kia driver, a 45-year-old woman from White Bear Lake was transported with serious injuries. The semi truck driver, 60, from Kronenwetter, Wisconsin was not hurt.
A Lakes Area officer noticed vandalism to historic Moberg Park Caboose in Chisago City. A failed try at starting a fire inside of the rail car was reported.

Alleged assault at Smitty’s September 13, in Chisago City. Alleged victim called police from his home to report, about 45 minutes after midnight.

The state patrol is investigating a single motorcycle crash Sept. 14 on I-35,  at the Lent Township #17 freeway interchange. A southbound 2014 Harley Davidson  went off the road as the driver merged from left to right and reportedly lost control.  

The driver and passenger were thrown.  The driver Aaron Taylor, 32, of Forest Lake, was taken from the scene with what the patrol describes as life threatening injuries. The passenger, 19-year-old Hannah Olson, of Wyoming, was not hurt seriously.

The crash happened about 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14.

A natural gas line was damaged at an address on Legacy Court, about 11 a.m. Xcel and Chisago City Fire handled the incident with no injury. The locator company had not been called.

An intoxicated male dumped his bicycle while riding Sept. 14 on Old Towne Road at 284th Street in Chisago City. He needed to be transported by ambulance for care. Lakes Area Police were sent to the scene about 11 p.m. Firefighters were called for assistance with clean-up on the sidewalk.

 North Branch Police had one suicide attempt reported and many reports of vehicles gone through by suspected thieves, at various addresses in town.

September 15 a vehicle involved in a crash at Bench Street and Hwy. 8, about 2 p.m. was driven away from the scene and ended up crashing a couple miles west of the first scene,  at Valley View.  A deputy handed the scene over to state patrol,  after the adult male driver got out of the vehicle reportedly stumbling and trying to communicate with slurred speech. There was no MN license in the database and an open bottle was seen in the car.
