From the desperate attempts to pump water into the lakes to rescuing fish frozen in the lake ice in the 1930s. VIsit Angler’s Eden on Green Lake. Learn the fascinating story of the naming of Bull Lake at Allemansratt Park, the early days of the Old People’s Home that became Parmly Ecumen and the community pulling together to raise funds for a hospital.
All of this and much, much more made this place what it is today. Ths show runs twice on Sunday at 4pm and 7 pm.
Over the weekend our very boisterous President decided to chime in on players taking a knee during the national anthem. While I am not going to even try to give my opinion on players and their rights to protest, I do have an observation or two. When the protests began I believe it was Colin Kaepernick who took a knee for racial injustice. Since that time over a year ago, we have seen hundreds if not thousands of sideline protests.
As I stated before, I am not qualified to give my opinion on what they are protesting but I sometimes question if some of them even know the real reason behind taking a knee. I am all for the freedom of speech in this world, so I blame the media for making sports unwatchable right now. Sportscats such as ESPN and Fox Sports are one hundred percent filled with stories about protests right now. My son and I were watching Monday Night Football last night and the entire pregame was dedicated to protesting. They even showed Cowboys owner Jerry Jones arm in arm with his players.
If there ever was a person who needs to protest it’s Jerry Jones. Jones has a net worth of $5.6 billion - that's billion with a b. If there is someone who needs to get the message out about social injustice of minorities it's Jerry Jones, who lines his pockets with millions that minorities make for him.
I would like to thank Jerry personally for his part in protesting. Because of him, I was able to turn off my televison and spend time with my family. I may make not watching NFL football my new protest.
