Alvin R. Lust, age 80, of Chisago City, MN passed away peacefully in Texas, surrounded by his family, on April 17, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  

Alvin was born on February 16, 1938, to Clarence and Leonilla (Schraut) Lust in Hillman Township, Minnesota.  He married Carolyn Schultz (Baesman) on October 5, 1966.  Alvin’s career consisted of being an army veteran, an over-the-road truck driver, and a farmer.  He was a member of VFW Post 1678 and of Teamsters Local 120.  Alvin was also a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Chisago City.  Alvin and Carolyn welcomed several foster children into their home and enjoyed including them as part of their family.  During his retirement Alvin and Carolyn enjoyed spending their winters in Pharr, Texas.  

Alvin was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Leonilla; brother Irvin; sister Gloria, and daughter Dawn Joy.  

Alvin is survived by his wife Carolyn; sons Randy (Salli) Schultz and Arlen (MaryJane) Schultz; granddaughters Kayla (Ryan) Sundby and Jessica (Jimmy Anderson) Schultz, and great-grandsons Carson and Tyson Sundby.  

Alvin will be missed by family and many friends in both Minnesota and Texas.  

A memorial service will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
