Story panels that relate the history of the Anderson Peninsula at Allemansratt Park in Lindstrom, have been put in place.  Luckily, there were just enough windows on the Peninsular Farm house to be able to share multiple points of historic interest.  

Each window on the refurbished and closed-in wood frame structure contains graphics and text about the peninsula’s earliest inhabitants.  The Lindstrom park board envisioned this becoming a passive interpretive site that visitors can gaze on and study,  as they hike or ski on one of the trails leading to the point.  It will certainly become a stop for visiting Swedes, along with Lindstrom’s Glader Cemetery and Karl Oskar House at Ki Chi Saga county park.

The Peninsular Farm is a special place where you can easily imagine settlers with wagons, bringing their lumber up from where it sawn on mainstreet Lindstrom.  The farmhouse would have had an uninterrupted view of sunrise over North Center Lake (before the woods filled-in) and sunsets would have lit the back bay behind the house.

There  are campsites close to the lake within the park, inquire with city hall for details on how to stay the night.  

The Friends of Allemansratt Park meet frequently at the chamber building in Lindstrom.  Volunteers are always welcome, see the city website or watch this paper for meeting announcements.
