Fourth of July was Saturday evening; another apartment meeting July 10
We joined some friends out on the lake Saturday night. The weather was perfect, we swung by a local restaurant via pontoon and had a great time with some friends. At dusk, we headed to the north end of North Center Lake. Someone had come by earlier that day and mentioned something about fireworks. When we got there a few boats were gathering for the fireworks. By the time the sun was down, there had to be a hundred boats or more on the water.
When the fireworks began, they were typical lake fireworks, good, but a decent amount time between fireworks. Then it began, non-stop fireworks much like you would see during the finale of a Fourth of July show and they just didn’t stop. It was 35-45 minutes of non stop fireworks and it was amazing.
I am not sure who was responsible for the show, if it was one person, a group or what, but it was one of the best shows we have seen ever. Thank you for the free entertainment and making a great night even better.
Many of you have been following the potential new development of a 100 plus unit apartment building that is to be built on the current Meredees (Dinnerbel) site. As you have read in the letters to the editor, it is a hot topic whether for or against the development.
On July 10 at Lindstrom City Hall there will be a special council meeting dedicated to the proposed property. I encourage all who hold interest in the development to attend the meeting. The reason for the public invite is simply so you can hear it first hand. Sometimes when aquaintenances hear about something and relay it, information gets skewed sometimes and it snowballs from there. The meeting will be reviewing apartment plan which includes a marina and a restaurant. The meeting begins at 7 pm at City Hall.
It is nice to have our tennants back with us here at the Press. Karl and Kristina are back from their vacation at a spa in St. Paul. Let me just say they look much younger and refreshed. You will definitely recognize they are back. It was lonely here without them. It was sad to turn the Swedish visitors away when they came all this way to see our favorite couple. All is well now.
