July 4 multiple fireworks complaints recorded by sheriff and police departments on July 4 and several days surrounding the holiday.  Readers are reminded that basically all fireworks that leave the ground are illegal.  You can check with the county auditor for details on how to go about getting a local fireworks display permit.  The sheriff signs-off for specific display permission.

A 22-year-old male was cited by Lakes Area Police for discharging a firearm in the city, when a neighbor reported damage to a house  window near Akerson and Nathan Court in Lindstrom, about 6 p.m.

Gasoline was added into a bonfire at a residence on Lakeview Road causing a flare-up and burns to a person’s legs. EMTs treated the injury on-site.  Incident happened about 9:15 p.m.
July 5  loose cows reported more than once over the week in the area of Green Lake Trail and Manning, south of Chisago City.  Owner was spoken with.

July 8 two sick raccoons put down by a Lakes Area Officer.

A vehicle erupted into fire after a two car  crash at Hwy. 8/Lake Boulevard and 270th.  The crash was reported about 6:20 p.m. and was blocking traffic, but authorities said no serious injury resulted.
