The great folks that make up Let's Go Fishing - Chisago Lakes Chapter are looking for you.  Let's Go fishing is a non-profit group that specializes in taking elderly, veterans, and handicapped residents out for a day of fishing and fun on our local lakes. The pontoon is supplied by Let's Go Fishing so all you need to do is show up and have some fun with some amazing people.  Words can not properly describe how much enjoyment this brings to the guests.  A trip only lasts for a few hours and is always on one of our great local lakes.  Why not bring some joy to someone’s life and your own? Call Joe at 651-261-4812 to volunteer.

Thanks to the great folks who worked so hard on this year’s Wannigan Days and the Chisago County Fair.  The weather was perfect for a celebration and the crowds were huge.

These folks work so hard on these events and they deserve our thanks.

If you are hungry for more local celebrations, don’t fret - we have two this weekend. Okay, we have one and one massive sporting event. Center City Days is upon us.  This is not your Center City Days you remember, it is bigger and better than ever.  The fun gets rolling Friday with a  kiddie parade that starts at the church parking lot.  There is a community picnic at Watertower Park where you are encouraged to bring a dish to share that starts at 6pm.  The Center City Fire Department will host a cash bingo at 7 pm at the fire hall.

Saturday has kids games and a vendor fair that runs from 9am - 3:30pm. You are invited to take part in the annual Grandpa’s Triathlon that starts in the lower parking lot of the church. registration is 8-8:45 am.

You can hunt for the missing Lutefisk with clues posted at the tent at 1 pm.  The grand day parade will run down Center Street beginning at the Government Center and starts at 6 pm. a street dance caps the night off at 8 pm.

Sunday has a pancake breakfast and a car show.  There is an ice cream social at the church at 1 pm and the celebration finishes with a boat parade at 3 pm.

Sunday is the annual Chisago Lakes Triathlon. I can’t believe it has been a year already since the last one.  This is the day when over a thousand athletes line our streets and our lakes competing in a half triathlon.

Volunteer numbers are way down this year, so if you would like to volunteer or you have a group that would like to help possibly run a water station, you are encouraged to call the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce at 257-1177. They can get you set up. You will be needed for only a few hours and you will get a nice t-shirt for your time.

Please be careful if you are out driving around Sunday.
