Mark John Hiestand, age 64, of Stacy, MN., passed away June 10, 2018.  Born July 27, 1953 in Amsterdam, NY.

Preceded in death by parents John Phillips Hiestand and Jean Ann (Johnson) Hiestand.

A gifted athlete, pole vaulter and pioneer of the “Fosbury Flop” high jump technique during high school in Liverpool, NY.  In 1971, Mark received the Male Athlete of Year award and earned a track and field scholarship to Murray State University.

Survived by partner Debra Hatfield; daughters Jaime Spade, Courtney Snider; Sherrie Hatfield, Lori Hatfield and son Ken Hatfield; grandchildren Tanner, Ryleigh, Alex, and Logan; twin brother John Michael Hiestand; sisters Catherine Jean (Hiestand) Keller and Lucy Ellen Hiestand; nieces, nephews, and many friends.  

A private celebration of Mark’s life will be held.
