Lakes Area Police wrote a report of a car damaged by a large piece of wood that came from a trailer,  being pulled by a westbound vehicle, on Hwy. 8 on Sunday, February 25.  The officer was dispatched to assist with the tow.  The wood piece recovered was about six feet long and about six inches wide.

The impact was near Pioneer Road about noon to 1 p.m.  If you were potentially involved they’d love to hear from you. (651-257-0622) There was no personal injury involved, but the car sustained damages.

Also Sunday a watermain break was reported in Chisago City.  The affected neighborhood was around Stinson and Lakeview Road.  The crews were called out about 10 a.m.

Lakes Area Police wrote numerous citations and warnings responding to incidents of overnight street parking, that make it really hard to get the streets cleared of snow.  The no-winter-overnight parking rule remains in effect until April, after the local snowfall threat is passed.

Lots of snowmobiling activity due to the snow and subsequently, lots of calls for related law enforcement help due to snowmobilers. ~ One sled reported stolen February 24 from a Center City establishment.  

~ A deputy was able to make contact with snowmobile operators on the trail at 337th in Lent Township, that is not open to motorized uses and advised them of this, and learned on running the registration they had been stopped in Forest Lake by DNR earlier. 

~ A sled turned over near Maranatha Church in Chisago City,  and crashed,  but the driver was cleared by EMS.

~ A mailbox was hit on Kost Trail and the offender notified law enforcement that he had tried to contact the homeowner unsuccessfully.
