Chris enjoyed playing darts and softball in her younger years. As she grew, her interests moved on to her work. She LOVED her job! She LOVED (for the most part) the PEOPLE she worked with. She never gave less than 150 percent. She was employed with Plastic Products Co/Smith Metal Products starting way back in March of 1995. She knew she would be a lifer. And she was happy with that! Other than work, her interests included reading, playing (Café World) on the computer, watching T.V. and movies.
But her greatest passion, her biggest love, were given to her two granddaughters, Emma Lea and Ava Rose. Nothing, and I mean nothing, in this world meant more to her than these two girls. From fashion shows that started at birth, as many carnivals that we could hit during the summer, to watching her “grandbabies” turn into “young ladies,” she didn’t miss a beat!
Chris is preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. George Edwards, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Christy Sr.
She is survived by her husband Michael Joseph Kotval; father Jerry L. (Ellen) Edwards; mother Carole C. Edwards (nee Christy); grandmother Dorothy J. Edwards (nee Warner); daughter Michelle “Chellie” L. (Casey) Alden (nee Nemmers); two granddaughters Emma Lea and Ava Rose Alden; sister Dianne R. Selbitschka (nee Edwards) and her children Dillon J. (Emily) Selbitschka and Danielle R Selbitschka; brother Scott W. Edwards and his children Derek W. (Emily) Edwards, Jered M. (Amanda) Edwards and their four boys, Hayden, Bennett, Cooper and George Edwards and Joshua L. Edwards; and five aunts and uncles, and many, many cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Grandstrand Funeral Home, 11900 Lake Lane North, in Lindstrom, MN 55045.
