Well it finally looks like we have turned the corner and are heading towards seeing grass again.  What a long cold winter we have endured this season. I love the snow but the 40 below temperatures is what seems to get me and everyone down.  It will be just a matter of time before we are on the golf course and me in my boat not catching fish.

As many of you know with Lent comes annual fish fry's.  I love fish fry's, love the smell, taste and of course the amount you are allowed to eat.  St. Bridgets in Lindstrom has one of the best fish fry's around and they have been doing it for as long as I can remember.  They serve every Friday during Lent from 5-7 pm  You can enjoy pub battered cod, baked cod, french fries, coleslaw, dinner roll, beverage and dessert all for $11.  I will see you there!

We here at the Press are currently working on our annual Chisago Lakes Community and Visitor Guide.  Many of you know it as the 100 page magazine that has a Swedish flag on the cover that is at most waiting rooms and public places.  This is our 15th year of putting out the guide and it has grown from a 42 page guide to close to 100 pages.  The guide is filled with important info about the area, happenings, events and so much more. why am I telling you all of this?  Because if you have a business in Chisago Lakes or a business that people in Chisago Lakes can utilize, this is THE one piece that you should advertise in.  Think about it, the guide is dispersed all year long and goes out to thousands of residents who keep it as a reference throughout the year. The guide is also handed out to thousands of visitors each year.   Your ad in the guide literally lasts all year long.  Break that down with the cost and the ad really costs pennies.  Don't miss your chance to advertise in this year's guide, give us a call at 651-257-5115 or email us at [email protected], we will help you create a great ad that will draw people to your business.

There are still openings for high school students who would like to be on a bass fishing team this summer.  Boys and girls will compete against other schools and will fish competitively once a week.  Don't worry, there will be boats available with captains who will be with the students as they fish.  If they had this when I was in school, I would have jumped at the chance.  You can register your student or team on Bass.com or by calling 612-499-6880.  If you have questions, please email Craig at [email protected].
