This Saturday, Chisago City would like to invite you  and your family to their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive.  The hunt features three age groups each with one golden egg and the lucky finder will receive a basket filled with Easter goodies.  Prizes will be awarded for best decorated baseball hats and bonnets.  There will be games, face painting and the Easter Bunny will be there for photo opportunities.  Please bring a food donation for the local food shelf.  They are also collecting items for “The Birthday Box” which the food shelf can give to people down on their luck to give their families a great birthday party.  They are looking for cake mixes, frostings, cupcake liners, sprinkles, candles etc. If you like, they are also accepting gifts valued at $5-$10 for children.

The egg hunts begin at 2 pm at Paradise Park in Chisago City.

Also on Saturday,  beginning at 10 am, the great folks at First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom invite you and your children to an Easter Carnival.  Children will enjoy games, crafts, minnow races, a cake walk and some great prizes will be handed out.  The church is located at 30828 Irene Ave,  in Lindstrom.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to a great friend of the Press. Steve Levey has started a long battle with cancer which began with a six our surgery.  Steve is a close friend of the Press and has done so much for this community, please keep him and his family in your prayers.

My family was offered a deal for spring break this year that we just couldn’t pass up.  We decided-- for the first time ever-- to vacation with other families and headed down to Cancun Mexico.  If you know me, you know that I am fairly laid back (unless you are my kids), so when I heard about vacationing with multiple families, immediately my mind started racing with visions of every minute of every day planned out.

I have a way of overthinking things so going into it I had already made up my mind how it was going to shake out.  I am thrilled to say it was completely opposite of what I envisioned.  The weather was spectacular all week and the company was even better.  There was plenty of laying in the sun doing nothing (right up my alley) mixed with enough outings to keep the young adults entertained.

I have never been to that area before, it is spectacular.  Crystal clear bright blue water with mid 80’s temperatures and cool drinks...go there if you get a chance.

Thanks to all who have already taken advantage of getting in this year’s Community Visitor Guide that we will be putting out soon.  We are in the midst of putting it together right now, so if you would like to have your business included in the guide, I would urge you to please call us very soon to be included in this wonderful book which lasts all year long.  Call us at 651-257-5115 and we will help you get your message out.
