Joyce Violet Marian Beecher was born on July 5, 1929 on a farm in rural North Branch to Edson and Violet (Swanson) Fairbanks. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. She was a graduate of North Branch High School and in 1949 married Orman Homer Beecher. Together they raised five children and she was together with Homer until his passing on March 30, 2015.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, parents, Edson and Violet, brothers, Gerald, Kenneth, Eugene, Melvin, Dale and Delmar Fairbanks; daughter in law Betty Lou, great granddaughter Jess Marie, brothers in law, Jerome Nelson, Everett Beecher, Virgil Beecher and Marvin Beecher as well as sisters in law, Walene, Shirley and Charlotte.
Joyce is survived by her children: Kent (Sandy) Beecher; Connie (Tom) Warneke; Gary Beecher; Lee (Corinne) Beecher; Kirk (Patti) Beecher; her 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with another great grandson due in July; brother James Fairbanks, sister Janice Nelson, sisters in law Jeanine, Sharon, Jean, Pat and Deloris Fairbanks and Edith, Gloria and Carol Beecher and many nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Living Water Fellowship in Rush City with Pastor Lee Beecher officiating. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 30 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch and also one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Family interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, in North Branch. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
