A trailer can be seen at ew.com/movies/2018/03/07/watch-asa-butterfield.
Natural Spaces Dome Home business, situated amongst a vast pine tree grove east of downtown North Branch, is a prominent locale in the film. Burstyn, the grandmother of one of the main characters, is a follower of Buckminster Fuller’s lifestyle/beliefs, and is raising her grandson (Asa Butterfield) in a geodesic dome home. Many scenes were shot at Natural Spaces and the movie includes various locations around North Branch.
The film is inspired by the 2010 book House of Tomorrow, by Peter Bognanni, a Twin Cities author. It was set in “North Branch, Iowa” originally.
FYI-- Another film shot for the small screen, under the working title Georgia Rock, is not a finished product yet. Georgia Rock was made in and around Sunrise and at Wild River State Park, during the summer of 2017.
