You probably shop on-line for home goods, concert tickets and clothes, so why not add food to your Internet adventure?  

The North Circle Farmers Market or “food hub” is where you can look up on-line approximately 20 area farmers who have enlisted in the hub and grow organic produce,  that is dropped off at regional drop-sites for you to pickup.  There are three locations in North Branch, two in Taylors Falls and one each in Center City and Wyoming.
The first food delivery  is scheduled for June 1.

North Circle Hub member farms range from the Beulah Farm in Stark to Bone Lake Meadows Apiary, on the south end of Chisago County.

By coming together under the food hub umbrella to distribute and aggregate product, they are making their customers’ experience more efficient.   The “hub” is made possible through a grant from North Central Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education to the Women’s Environmental Institute in Amador Township.  

WEI founder and Grant Coordinator Jacquelyn Zita said the on-line market is open from June to October, Saturdays through Wednesdays at noon.  Deliveries are completed Friday afternoons with drop-off locations in North Branch, Wyoming, Center City and Taylors Falls.  

The Internet list is available as of May 26.

Zita explained, “...what is unique about North Circle Farmers is a commitment to sustainable, organic growing.  These farmers help protect our local environment with careful stewardship of land and water.  They also protect our health by not taking unknown risks with GMOs or perto-chemical pesticides...in turn we as consumers can support these family farms by investing our food dollars into this local economy.”
