The Chisago Lakes School Board met again for a regular meeting Thurday Oct. 11, . All board members were present, save the student representative.

Student representatives were appointed, Olivia Stevermer (senior) and Estephany Hanson (junior), were chosen as reps on imperative student issues relevent to the board.

Adressed at the meeting was the reseignation of Director of Business Services--Greg Anklan. The main reason Superintendent Dean Jennissen gave was to"move on to something else." Heide Miller, former Business Director will be aiding in the hiring process of the new replacement.

Also lightly discussed were plans for the High School Community  Center for the outline of operation regarding logistics of the new facility once completed--discussion was left largely unresolved and the board expected more things to be adressed, as well as approved for, during the next meeting.

District wide enrollment numbers were reviewed and from Oct. 2017-Oct. 2018 there was an increase in enrollment from 3395-3432.

The Board approved and adressed changes at the Taylors Falls Elementary School building as part of the referendum projects.  There is to be a new project underway involving renovations throughout the school, code updates, and two major additions. The first of the two being an addition on the north side for a new kindergarten classroom and the second being an addition of a new media center on the east side, adjacent to the newest portion of the school. The plan involves the implementation of a digital lab, a media productions room, a work room, a conference room, and a new community history room that is to be open to the public. Renovations also involve two pre-K rooms also on the east side. The work is slated to begin for the summer of 2019.
