There were over 40 tickets issued for city on-street overnight parking violations last week by area police patrols. Luckily these were written warnings, but real citations with a fine, will be next.

On-street, overnight parking in cities like Wyoming, Chisago City, Lindstrom, North Branch, is prohibited now until April.  If you have guests or need an exemption for extra vehicles,  call ahead to your local police office and explain the situation. The streets need to be consistently clear of vehicles for plow operators to do their job and once a big snowfall has hit it is too late to react.  Thank You.

Friday, November 9 A multiple injury crash at 32165 Forest Boulevard,  just south of Lent Trail, was reported about 3:25 p.m.  Area Facebook posts by law enforcement advised avoiding the roadway for a few hours while the crash site was investigated and cleaned up.

The county sheriff’s department and local police worked the scene as four persons were transported for medical care-- one was an air ambulance transport.  Early details are that a Ford 150 extended cab with a 16 year old female driver and three passengers-- was southbound on #30 and collided with a northbound Ford F150 (regular cab.) There was a lone driver in this truck.  He was taken to Fairview Medical Center in Wyoming and airlifted from there to Regions. No new details were readily available early this week.

Also Nov. 9 deputies were called to Grumpy Minnow on Rush Lake, about 7:45 p.m.  for a disorderly patron allegedly intoxicated and attempting to get into a vehicle.  The suspect ignored deputy directions to go with authorities, then reportedly became belligerent, kicked and damaged a county squad car and fought EMS crews when they were called. He was transported to Cambridge Medical Center and charges are pending.

A ticket was issued for theft of services to a male trespassing on Wild Mountain slopes,  without a lift ticket. He will not be able to re-enter the business the rest of the year.

November 8 Lakes Area Police learned of multiple alleged pornographic images on Chisago Lakes High School student cell phones.  There will be search warrants executed to look into data stored on phones that were seized last week.

November 6 firefighters were called to a suspected fire at an apartment building  at East Street, Chisago City.  The alarm was silenced when it was learned the smoke in the hallway was the result of food burned atop a stove.

Nov. 6 Wyoming Police covered a crash incident where someone died, at 250th Street, about 5:30 p.m.  Lakes Area Police sent a squad to assist.  We were unable to get further details from Wyoming P.D. Tuesday this week.
