Betty was born on December 27, 1931 in Freeborn, Minnesota to parents Carlyle and Elna Bridley. She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon; sister Jeanette; and her parents. She is survived by her siblings Leo (Bonnie), Valborg and Dean; children Sharon, Charles, and Arnold (Tami); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Betty went to school in Moscow, Minnesota where she rode her horse, a gray Tennessee Walker, to school “every day uphill both ways.” She attended Austin High School. After graduation, she took her nurses training at Neave Hospital in Albert Lea where she met the love of her life, Gordon. Gordon and Betty were married on December 6, 1953. They moved to the Twin Cities area where Betty worked in several nursing home facilities; one being Innsbruck in New Brighton. She then had the honor of being a stay-at-home mom and grandma. Gordon and Betty enjoyed their retirement in Florida for 10 years. Then they moved out to Chisago City in 1996 to be back in the country where Betty liked it best.
Betty enjoyed spending her time with family, bible studies (where she is missed dearly as it is said she was good at sharing her opinion), painting, gardening, and her flower gardens - Anything to be outside.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City, MN. Burial will follow with luncheon provided. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN.
