Jonathan Patrick “Jon” Maine, age 36, of Forest Lake died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his home.

Jon was born March 18, 1982, to Roland and Diane (Hoover) Maine in Chisago City.  He attended White Bear Lake High School.  Jon loved helping people.  He volunteered at Eagle Brook Church in Lino Lakes, where he was a member, and also the Hazelden Foundation and  Forest Lake 156 Club.  Jon enjoyed fishing, boating, watching Kung Fu movies, plants, taking care of his bonsai trees, training to be a beekeeper, spending time with family and friends, and especially being “Uncle Jonny” to his niece, Isabelle.  He was honored to be the best man for his brother and best friend, Justin.

Jon was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Roland Maine Sr.; maternal grandparents, Walter and Shirley Hoover; and an uncle, Gerald Hoover.  He is survived by his parents, Roland and Diane Maine; brother, Justin (Ashley) Maine; niece, Isabelle Davis; grandmother, Pheba “Darline” Franks; aunts and uncles, Betty Hoover, Eva Jeanne (Carl) Herron, Mike Franks, Bill (Tina) Franks, and Donna Underwood; also many cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Jon’s Life will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at  Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Visitation will be from noon until the service time at the funeral home.  Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
